I write this last and final blog as an official college graduate from Franciscan University. Four years have never gone by so fast and have never been so influential in my life. This university has had an immense impact on the person I have become and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity I had to come here. These last final weeks have been a great way to wrap up my time here as many year-end events occurred. I won an intramural AA frisbee championship, finished my time in household with retreat and senior honoring, had my last formal, took my last finals, attended my last Festival of Praise, and had experiences with friends that I will never forget. There are so many great things that have happened, but for this last blog, I want to write about how this university has impacted my life specifically.
As I have mentioned previously, I am studying Finance and getting an Associates in Theology. I came to this university for those two reasons, to receive a morally sound business education that will equip me with the skills I need to be a successful Catholic businessman. A question on one of my finals was to reflect on how the business department and the university helped me to come to understand my vocation as a business leader and as I was writing, it all came to a culmination. Through the various opportunities and experiences I have been given such as classes, mission trips, studying abroad in Austria, hearing influential speakers and homilies, prayer formation, and being in an environment that is constantly encouraging me not be mediocre and to seek my call to holiness, this university has provided me the exact experience that I wanted out of college. I feel this university has formed me into a man of faith, character, virtue, and infused that into my business knowledge to enable me to make a difference in this world. I feel completely prepared and motivated to fulfill my goals in life and will always have this University to thank for contributing that formation for me.
I was hesitant at first to attend this university, but seeing where I am now, I could not have imagined attending any other college. This place is a gift and one that I will be forever grateful for and never take for granted. I hope that through these blogs and other things you have heard or experienced about Franciscan University have revealed this to you as well. At the end of the day, there is no other place like here and if you are called, it will help you achieve your goals, call to holiness, and a great college experience. Aside from all this serious talk, this university is a blast! I can’t begin to explain how much fun I have had during my time here. Pick up kickball, spontaneous dance parties, and some hysterical people are only a few of the things that made my time here an extremely joyful experience. The list goes on and on!
I hope everyone has a great summer and I thank you for reading my blogs! I hope they have been influential in your life somehow!
Hi I’m Chris Pagano. I’m is a Business Finance major with a minor in Theology. I love to spend my busy days enjoying various activities on campus: household, swing dancing, studies, and much more. Each semester helps me to learn and grow in my life in many different ways and I am looking forward to seeing what this one holds.
