My Name is Madison Jennings and I am from the Methow Valley, Washington. I grew up in a very naturalistic environment, where the shared philosophy was community living, and it takes a village to raise a child. With a regional population of approx. 700, this is easy to do. I would bike 15 miles down our quiet highway to meet up with friends, and work at the local hotel as well as meet with teachers for extra help. This sort of living inspired me later mid-transfer of my college career- I noticed that much of education and childrearing do not capture the naturalism of my youth. So, during my leap from Christendom College to Franciscan University, I decided to jump in and learn about the national temperature and climate of American Education. On my soul, I have Mahatma Gandhi’s words “Be the change you wish to see in the world”- and I wish to be the incarnate form of his words- to better the world, one child at a time. I use much of my past and formation in my lesson plans as well as my approach when working with students.

Children are not vessels in which we fill with our knowledge, rather, they are master scientists who discover and master information through exploration- and I am just here to facilitate in that journey to understanding.
My most immediate goal for the future is to climb Mt. Ranier and Mt. Baker with my Father as a celebration of graduation. After that- I go where the spirit calls me.
