The Baron Rugby team, ranked third in the nation, is off to Ireland today for a spring break tour of the country, some training with top Irish coaches, a couple of matches, and to experience the warmth of Irish hospitality. We are very excited for this opportunity! We’ll be sharing some photos and stories about the trip here, so keep an eye out for updates.

STEUBENVILLE – The Franciscan Rugby Team is excited to announce a Tour of Ireland this spring break. This will be the program’s third tour of Ireland with the last trip back in 2011. As with the last tour, the team is working with George Hook, from Irish Rugby Tours.

“We will train with some of the best coaches in Ireland, play matches against Irish squads, and experience Irish culture,” said head coach Dan Kramer. “This is an incredible opportunity for our team, both players, and coaches. I believe it is coming at an ideal time as well. The team is really coming together with a singular focus and we are playing good rugby, but we definitely have room for improvement. The matches in Ireland will be a lot of fun, but I am most excited for our training sessions. There are countless nuggets of knowledge that we can pick up from coaches who have been around the game their entire lives.”
